This year I decided to showcase some of the wonderful holiday products the Farmers’ Market vendors have to offer. I hope this online gift guide inspires you to visit the market this joyous season and to find something special for everyone on your shopping list.

The Beekeeper’s Boards. Handmade on our farm in Guysborough County, the Beekeepers’ Boards are made from Birch and Maple hardwood locally sourced from the woods of Nova Scotia and Walnut from Ontario. No two are ever alike. With each purchase you receive a tin of “Bee Kind to Your Wood” paste. Also made on our farm with a food safe mineral oil to keep your board well oiled, beeswax from our own bees to give your board surface extra water repellency plus carnauba wax, to provide added hardness and surface protection. From $115 to $125 (tax included).
All Things Honey. Besides providing liquid and creamed honey, we also make a number of condiments, Honey Butter and Spreads – all made with our own honey. Visit us at the the Antigonish Farmers’ Market for the best selection of products. From $4 to $36 for a six pound pail of raw honey (tax included).
Pure Beeswax Candles. Beeswax is the purest of waxes, being a natural air purifier and non-allergenic. The warm amber glow is relaxing and soothing while emitting a lovely scent of honey while burning. We have a variety of pure beeswax candles available. From $2 for the smallest tealight to $18 for the largest candle (tax included).
Local Maple Syrup products. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Nova Scotian maple syrup products. From pure maple syrup, to maple butter and maple sugar! Straight from their family owned farm in St. Joseph’s, the Haverkort’s offer a variety of maple syrup products in a various sizes. From $6 to $66
Holiday Home-Baked Goods. Enjoy the Holidays with a variety of delicious festive treats. Phyllis’ Kitchen offers gluten-friendly breads, bagels, fudge, shortbread cookies, pies, sourdough, squares, and much more. $5+
Stingin’ Hot Honey & Eco-Friendly Beeswax Wraps. Check out the latest addition to Sandra Swinkels’ honey products line. Stingin’ hot honey will surely please anyone on your list who likes to add some spice to their meals. And the popular eco-friendly and reusable beeswax wraps are a great addition to anyone’s kitchen. Sandra can include these items and other products of your choice (e.g. hand-made soaps, bath salts, balm salve, lip balm and moisturizers) in a personalized Holiday gift box for you to give to someone special. $10 for the 6oz Stingin’ hot honey and $6 for the small beeswax wrap.
Christmas Goodies & Preserves. These delicious jams, jellies, baked goods, snacks, warm drink mixes and spice mixes make for thoughtful gifts and wonderful stocking stuffers. From $3 to $40
Authentic Thai Deliciousness. Add some Kimchi to your pantry this season, a traditional side dish made from salted and fermented vegetables, with a variety of seasonings. Thai style salad dressing perfect for any greens. Delicious coconut jam for your morning breakfast. $7+
Hand-Knitted Hats. Marie Melanson’s creations for adults and children are hand made with 100% wool or acrylic yarn. Whether it’s an original style, cabin style, or with Acadian colours, keep your head warm this winter by wearing one of these classy toques. From $15 to $30
One of a kind silk scarves. Original hand-dyed and hand-made scarves by Antigonish’s own Maura Pelletier. These beautiful and colourful silk scarves will surely make a statement with any outfit. $40 & $50
Charming Beaded Earrings. Queen Bead’s earrings are available in a variety of different colours and styles. They are all one of a kind, and custom orders are welcome! Be sure to check out Sarah’s stylish earring creations and other accessories the next time you visit the Antigonish Farmers Market. $7
Felted wool mittens. A great addition to anyone’s winter wardrobe. These cozy mittens are made from re-purposed wool sweaters! How neat is that? They come in a variety of styles and colours. $20
Nova Scotia Sea Glass Art. Unique framed art, hand-made with sea glass found on the beautiful shores of Nova Scotia. A wonderful addition that suits any style of home decor. $15+
Unique Nautical Rope Decor. From colourful doormats, to baskets, bowls, monkey’s fist door stops and Celtic knot wreaths, Tuesday Stuff offers a selection of handcrafted nautical home décor using new and repurposed lobster rope & manila rope. From $5 to $60
Original local photographs. Jolene Chisholm offers a large selection of prints from the Antigonish and surrounding area, which are mostly of landscapes, animals, nature, photos with quotes and much more. All photography is Jolene’s original work and is available in matted prints, greeting cards, fridge magnets and a few framed photos. She also offers gift certificates. $20+
Scottish Crest Wall Art. These custom needle felted Scottish clan crests are hand-made of 100% wool and can be finished in fabric or solid wooden frames.
